Partnering with management and employees is critical to a successful investment

IOP believes that a talented, committed and motivated senior management team is critical to the success of its investments.  IOP works closely with the senior management at its companies to develop and support the execution of well-defined and achievable strategic and operating plans.  IOP believes that its management teams should share in the financial success of its investments and seeks to align their interests with IOP through co-investment opportunities, substantial performance-based bonus plans, and stock option or similar equity incentives.

IOP prefers companies with strong existing key managers.  However, depending on the strength and depth of the incumbent managers, IOP’s extensive operating resources allow it to supplement or upgrade an existing team, add resources on an interim or project-oriented basis, provide one of its Operating Principals to mentor incumbent managers, or assume full operational control. 

The principals of IOP have a history in working constructively with both unionized and non-unionized companies.  Through its efforts to stabilize, grow and enhance the value of its investments, IOP seeks to make its businesses a better place to work.
